The Rennes-based trio FRAGMENTS, which revisited Fargo by the Coen brothers in a memorable live rendition of the original soundtrack, offers up a fascinating performance, full of synthetic textures, disturbing keyboard sequences, and robotic rhythms. With its machines and synths, their very electro post-rock leaves behind the extreme violence to revive the ambiguous political message of this work, which divided critics all while walking away with multiple Oscars.
