A workshop that takes place within the academic establishment itself. Working primarily from film excerpts, we explore cinema history, go over the steps in creating a film and the associated career paths, explain the different kinds of shots and the camera’s movement, consider the role of editing and of the frame to create meaning, etc. A great introduction prior to attending a festival, the students acquire the first tools of film analysis. The workshop’s content may vary depending on the instructor’s specific requests.
