Cinema is being reinvented in film schools—and it is in Poitiers that this evolution comes to light!
Spearheaded by TAP – Scène nationale de Grand Poitiers, the Poitiers Film Festival fosters encounters between new generations of filmmakers and cinephiles.
With its unique focus, the festival scouts the most inspired emerging cinematic talent from film schools around the globe. It showcases the best student-made short films through its International Selection and the “So French!” competition.
Its programming highlights contemporary cinema, featuring both emerging and established filmmakers.
In 2026, the festival’s geographic focus turns to new Belgian cinema—exploring the intimate with precision—while its thematic cycle examines the fascination filmmakers and audiences alike hold for courtroom dramas. And, being a lover of anniversaries, the festival will joyfully celebrate the 10th anniversary of the “Jump In” workshops, the 40th anniversary of La Fémis, and the 80th anniversary of the French Film Critics’ Syndicate!
With previews, a film-concert, masterclasses, short film programs, screenings for young audiences, workshops, and gala evenings, the Poitiers Film Festival is a vibrant hub of cinematic energy!
