The cinema of tomorrow starts in film schools… And it is unveiled in Poitiers!
Yet again, this year’s International Selection presented the best of short and feature films: 48 films from 24 countries, selected from amongst 1,500 entries, competed in this 42ndedition.
The India Focus showcased contemporary independent cinema through a Bollywood Soirée, a panorama of features, three programs of shorts by film students in Pune, Mumbai, Calcutta, and Hyderabad. Anurag Kashyap, the Indian master of detective film, honored us with his presence.
As for the master classes, the Film lesson introduced us to French-style superhero films and their authors; Itinerary retraced the career and roles of the actor Pierre Deladonchamps; and the composer Marc Marder came accompanied by his double bass to give the Music and cinema master class.
The launch-pad initiatives “Talents en Court” and Jump In continue to accompany young talents from the region, from France, and beyond.
Previews, special screenings, prestigious guests, and festive events continue to make the Poitiers Film Festival a time of discovery, new connections, and celebration for everyone!
