NOV 27 – DEC 4, 2015
38th edition
Taking the pulse of budding cinema, soaking up new momentum and a breath of fresh air, unveiling new filmmakers: that is what motivates us every year to unearth the best films from all four corners of the earth.
The Poitiers Film Festival is a place where the future of cinema is built, a place where different writings converge, a place where young filmmakers may break free from the rules and try anything.
Although the competition invites many countries, our neighbors across the Rhine stand out for the quality of their cinematic creation in every edition. This year, more than ever, a German wave washed over the Festival with the Berlin in Cinemaprogram and the Focus: young filmmakers from Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Potsdam, and Ludwigsburg were invited to Poitiers, along with great names in German cinema and cult films by Wim Wenders, Fatih Akin, Andreas Dresen, and Christian Petzold.

Despite being accustomed to the quality of the selected films, it is always a renewed pleasure to discover the dynamism and creativity of these very young contemporary filmmakers.
